Seeing the footage of former Marine One carrying President and Laura Bush away was tough. I can’t believe he isn’t President anymore, and I am sickened to hear that he was heckled until the very last moment. He is a good man, and did not deserve the treatment he received for 8 long years.

Today feels like a terrible dream, only matched by the deja vu from election night. We knew, of course, that President Bush’s term had to end, but it comes with an even deeper “thud” when we see to whom the torched has been officially passed.

Thank you and God bless you, President and Mrs. Bush, for your dedication to this country. You will be greatly missed.
