2. I love the poster who compares being black with being degenerate.
:eyes:

To: bimboeruption
This confirms a dynamic I recognized years ago. As early as the late 1980s, Blacks were being highlighted by the media as the coolest people on planet earth. In line with this, the black musician could do no wrong. The vulgarity and moral vacancy they displayed, was also portrayed as the coolest way to act.

Young white girls adopted black styles, behavior, even makeup. White guys were jumping on the rap band wagon by the droves. The gangsta styles were and are all the rage.

Many of our kids have been convinced that it is cool to be pierced, tatooed, and degenerate.

So now Larry King’s kid wants to be black. is there any question why that is the case? No.

Say thanks to your guests Larry. And welcome to the reality parents have to deal with in this declining nation.

6. How sad is this post.
So when they think of black people they only see thugs who are pierced and tattooed. WTF? I am not surprised about the thug thing. Most of those idiots get their opinions of blacks from stereotypes...but since when did black people start the piercing and tattoo trends that are popular today? Such ignorant assholes.

8. Actually, Lee Atwater had a huge change of heart at the end of his life
Unfortunately, it took a lethal disease to instigate the transformation.

10. I don't know how authentic the conversion was
and I know how reprehensible he was prior to his brain cancer (wasn't it brain cancer?). I actually fell victim to his '88 strategy to supress the vote by making the election so ugly people would stay home in disgust and not vote (which is why I always vote now, no matter how ugly the election gets).

Still, I remember being surprised by his very vocal renunciation of the racist/divisive tactics he used. Assuming he was sincere, it sucks that it takes confronting his own mortality before he'd reject that bullshit.

12. He ran out of time
to try to reform his image by other means. I believe he was not sorry for what he did. I believe he was sorry the impression people got of him for what he did.

14. The right -- not just the far right-- in America has always been neck deep in racism
The none-too-well disguised undertone in most "law and order" and "anti big government" whining has always been, not lofty conservative ideals (whatever that would be), but "protect us white folks from the n******". Just because the leadership usually is discreet enough not to use the n-word doesn't mean you can't hear the n-word, loud and ever so nauseatingly clear.

Put enough stress on the rank and file though, and they pull out the megaphones rather than the dog whistles.
