"What the fuck? They never acted this way towards Bush. Why are they acting like vultures?" The press better understand beating up on someone with 83% approval is going to make them look like they are on a witch hunt.

1. They're determined to not look like they're complacent...
They didn't do their jobs with Bush, so they will make damn sure that they do their job with Obama. I don't really have a problem with it.

5. I don't have any problem with a properly functioning press or even a tough one
but their job is NOT to manufacture controversy or to act as stealth agents for their corporate masters and the GOP.

9. This is true...
They seem to be OBSESSED with Obama's transparency but they didn't give two shits about Bush's for how long? Oh wait, 6 years. Fucking ridiculous. They even asked if Obama will take a pay cut without realizing that he can't do that by executive order. It has to be a law. Now what's more important for Congress, a piddly $400,000 salary for the President or dealing with these other issues that actually affect the rest of the country?

2. They've learned nothing
Same thing that happened with Bill Clinton. They attacked and attacked, yet his popularity stayed high. Meanwhile, Dubya got so many passes but eventually the public saw through him. I say "Go media go!" They can only help President Obama by being gossipy idiots focused on crap that makes most Americans (except for what, 22 percent?) roll their eyes and write the so-called press off as useless.

10. One thing that delights me is that, at first glance Gibbs could "appear" to
someone as being sort of meek and mild, or even "too nice". What is the truth, however, is that he is nowhere near being a pushover and can handle just about anything thrown at him, and able to do so without raising his voice or looking like a tool. Recall his incident with - hannity I think it was? Gibbs is GREAT. And perfect for the job.

: )

24. I agree...Gibbs got his feet wet today and
made a spectacular splash. One thing is he doesn't have to cover for Obama and he's got the facts on his side even if certain members of the previously dormant jackals act like petulant victims.

in the last eight years.

They're going to go overboard in the opposite direction to show they're relevant.

Good luck with that. :eyes:

15. The corporate media is to the Republican Party as GMAC Finance is to Chevrolet
They're not in the same business precisely, but their work overlaps. They're separate organizations, but they are divisions of the same corporate conglomerate. They answer and work for the same ownership.
You might say that the Republicans make the shit and the Corporate media makes the public buy the shit.

So when Republican lose the Congress and the White House, you bet the corporate media has a job to do. They're a part of a self-repairing organism and right now they're that creature's last line of defense. They're going to a "job" on Obama all right, if they can.

17. Many of the "news" people are first rate idiots, and are now getting their
big chance to prove it.

Bush ruled the press with threats of reprisals if they dared to speak against him or investigate his policies.
Obama hasn't done that, so they are now free to be the seekers of truth they like to think they are.

Assholes.

18. Ha! My mother-in-law just sent me an email "prooving" the liberal media is hard on Bush and soft...
on Obama. How? With supposed headlines blasting Bush about the cost of his inauguration while other headlines said Obama's more expensive inauguration was "only $..." I am so fucking sick of the liberal media meme this may very well cause familial disharmony if I have one more margarita.

19. well, we now know that they were all being spied on by the NSA
every single thing they did - faxes, emails, phone calls - private or work related.

Now, I can imagine that if one caught wind of that, and knew or was told that there was a disc of that naughty email they sent to their high school sweetheart (fill in the blank- they watched a porn, etc) that COULD fall into the wrong hands....

I can imagine they would suddenly discover their conservative values.

The spying explains a lot, actually. I could never understand how so many informed people had suddenly turned freakishly ignorant, even knowing how the media is run by huge corporations. The individual talent are usually liberal, as anyone sane who is exposed to the world tends to be.
