Who the hell is that scumbag womanizer to judge whether Caroline Kennedy performed well enough in her relationships with government officials, etc to be a good Senator. Perhaps she should have committed adultry and admitted to it when pressed as if it was nothing like he did.
Governor, you are a class act. Like Ken Starr & George Bush.

It's Paterson.

11. Plainly, too simple an explanation for the OP. Foolishness to compare Patterson to Bush.

16. Or, maybe she actually told the truth and withdrew from consideration due to personal reasons

8. You know for a fact that she didn't withdraw?
Two days ago, the man who's been her father since her own father was killed had a complication of an illness that's killing him.

Until I know that she didn't, in fact, back out of her own accord, I'm not willing judge anyone.

10. Well, he's the governor. And that gives him the right to decide who the best person for the job is.
He is allowed to disregard the fact that she is America's Princess and actually focus on her qualifications, her electability, and the level of competence she displayed in her interviews and meetings with government officials.

13. Since Caroline withdrew, why blame Paterson?
This was her decision, not his. He had enough pressure from Bloomberg, and being told Ted Kennedy wanted his niece to have the position and how Caroline was Obama's "dearest friend"

With that on your plate, how do you decide anything, based on qualifications?

Rumor had it Paterson was going to pick her. Even gave her 24 hours to reconsider withdrawing. If Caroline felt she wasn't up to the job, she should be commended for withdrawing. You have to respect that. Maybe it was because she wanted her finances kept private? If so, that's her right. Who knows? But it's her decision, no one else's.

Maybe this article will clear it up for you: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28780112

15. You meant to reply to OP, I assume.
I was merely being critical of calling Paterson a scumbag.

17. Gee I find the use of the term scumbug as offensive as bitch
And it was and is in fact Governor Patterson's constitutional (New York Constitution and consequently US Consitution) mandate to judge exactly who should replace Senator Clinton, womanizer or not.
