Their frame is "Obama is dismantling the systems Bush put in place to keep us safe"
The press and the Republicans will ride this horse as long as they possibly can while they secretly (or not so secretly) hope that "something happens" so that they can crush Obama's adminstration over it.

The real frame is Obama is dismantling the systems that Bush put into place that make us LESS safe since they act as recruiting tools for our enemies and do nothing to make us or the world more safe and secure while they debase us as a society.

Which one is the harder sell?

That should be our frame.

4. It's the whole Franklin "Those who trade liberty for security deserve neither"
thing. I might have gotten the quote wrong, but that is the essence.

7. Thank you, sakabatu!
We should email http://www.whitehouse.gov about that. Because I don't think Gibbs was thinking of that today.

2. And, Obama and Gibbs have
to frame it in the way that it isn't good for our country to throw people in a dungeon and throw away the key..and Torture is for sadists and thugs.

9. In todays press conferance...
Gibbs was very careful not to frame the answers as a criticism of bush policies, even when that criticism was the answer the press was looking for. I hope they do let someone draw the contrast, but I don't think it will come from Obama. Maybe Biden can do that.

12. America rejected the Bush worldview emphatically in November.
Period. End of story. These assholes can bleat all they want to try to rewrite Bush as some kind of decent president and kneecap Obama, but it won't do.

Their time is over and Obama and the country are moving on. With great speed, I might add.

And I couldn't be happier.

13. And some in the MSM are doing everything they can to rewrite it with this "safety" tag
Look around at the headlines today and the threads today. They are relentless on this bogus "safety" issue.
