Norm Coleman Gets a Job

Minnesota Republican Norm Coleman is still fighting to get his old Senate job back, but in the meantime, he has landed a new one.

Coleman, who is waging a legal battle against Democratic challenger Al Franken to win back the Senate seat he held for one term, has signed on as a consultant and strategic adviser for the Republican Jewish Coalition.

His role was described as helping the group recruit new members and speaking to Jewish groups across the country, beginning with events in Los Angeles in February and Florida in March.

“We are confident that in a few months Sen. Coleman will return to his seat in the Senate, but until that time, we are eager for him to travel across the country on our behalf and to be an important voice within the organization,” Matt Brooks, the group’s executive director, said in a statement issued Thursday.

Coleman campaign spokesman Mark Drake said that while Coleman still expected to win the seat, “the reality is, in the interim, Sen. Coleman is not a member of the millionaire’s club and he needs to work to earn a living.”

Oh and a note to Ms. Hunter: It's not Sen. Coleman, by the way. Or do they get to keep the title as Presidents do, (though even they are sometimes called former president for clarification).

He's not a Senator, so I don't know. Maybe I'm being nit-picky. For some reason, he seems to deserve it after his handling himself throughout this process. Hypocrisy can be annoying.
