As if President Obama wasn't enough...
Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 03:19 AM by the dogfish
The spirit of the people rising up and taking back and working hard to do what's right and to get rid of the dysfunctional bureaucracy seems to be catching.

My graphics department has suffered an absurdly terrible manager for the past few years. He did nothing right, he lied all the time and he'd throw you under the bus in a heartbeat to save face. He fired artists who had been there for years and did a great job (one was fired the week before Christmas) so he could put his friends in the positions, some of who were not nearly as talented as the people they replaced. Prior to him, we had a few other managers brought in from outside, who were "professional managers".

Last month they finally tossed him and replaced him with... me and another artist. I can't believe it. We've all worked together for so many years, we all know each other and how to treat each other and respect each other and care about the place. I never thought this would happen in a million years.

Which is exactly how I feel about Obama running the place. One of the people, who gets how it works, who respects people and cares about the place, gets to run things for a change.

(Yes I've bitched about Warren pretty loudly, and I hate that choice still, and am unhappy with Obama for it, but the other 75% of me is still feeling like I'm going to wake up from a dream).

3. I like your positive attitude!

I understand the Warren issue was one that he should have dealt with differently; but it is so incredible to see DU'ers who have shared their displeasure with President Obama in making that pick ------ yet they are still able to look ahead and see the good in our new Prez.

Awesome post! ~~~ Thank you!!

4. Thanks!
Part of me gets the Warren choice... he's showing he's everyone's President. But another part of me feels betrayed.

And the rest of me is overjoyed still.
