Why does Joe Scarborough continually insist the Geneva Convention doesn't apply to Gitmoes?

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld on 29 June 2006 that Gitmo detainees were entitled to the minimal protections listed under Geneva Common Article 3. The Department of Defense even issued an internal memo stating that prisoners will in the future be entitled to protection under that article.

the republican on chris matthews was talking about gitmo and how we need to torture people. why can't matthews or anyone else ask the obvious question... why do you hate our troops. so then you support the torture and mistreatment of our troops by our enemies? of course they would bristle and get mad you even suggested that, but when you try to validate poor and criminal treatment of our prisoners, then you are oking the same treatment for our soldiers. regardless of whether our enemies abide by the geneva convention, we have no standing to complain about how our soldiers are treated if captured by the enemy when we treat the ones we have in custody so horribly.
