Olbermann, Maddow, Joy Behar?
A liberal comedienne?

I just saw her on Larry King. She's a riot, and a truth teller.

1. She'd be a riot but she has a day job and subs for Larry so it probably wont happen
but I'd love it. :)

3. A job is a job. Katie Couric had the world by a string and left. Maybe Joy
would like a challenge. She would be so great!

11. Meredith left the View for The Today Show
it could happen, and it would be great.

2. She's on The View
Edited on Mon Jan-26-09 01:07 AM by sandnsea
Been around for decades. Her and Whoopi on The View, excellent most of the time.

on edit:

Oooh, you meant for her to be on after Rachel. I see. Never mind.

7. Agreed
She'd be a ton of fun on after Rachel.

I thought you were asking who she was, which is why I got confused and then said "Never Mind".

5. Nah
I'll pass.

Not that I dislike her, but I'd prefer the repeat of Countdown to fluff.

9. Joy Behar is not fluff
She's as smart as they come, she's just funny when she's telling the truth.

19. Smart, irreverant, but often underinformed. A shame considering the View audience.

20. Compared to who?
Compared to any given cable news reporter? Just as informed as any of them, including Maddow and Olbermann. I don't watch the show that often, but when I do, she has details that a lot of the news channels don't report. Whoopi is the one who is likely to give credibility to the lying media when they're dead wrong.

21. She may not be....
.... but her show would be. I would prefer more straight on news-only coverage. She would most likely have a bit more light hearted satire and, like I said, I'd rather watch Countdown twice.

Rachel's "pop culture minute" is about all of the comic relief I need on my news programs. :)

10. Agreed
I like Joy a lot. She was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for crying out loud.

But to keep me watching, it has to be somebody more serious by that time of night. And covering late breaking issues or dealing with them without a tongue in cheek approach. It's 8 PM here when Rachel's show ends and I want a more sober program since that's when I usually go read a book.

15. That's when I'm ready for something light
After several hours of news, starting with David Schuster. I think the time slot would be perfect for a Maher type show, only not so cynical.

17. If he did all politics
But not all celebrities. I'd like to see a quality political interview show, only not completely cerebral. Something like Donahue used to be, with a more modern flavor, and funny is fine. I wish DL Hughley was better.

6. And allow me to hijack your thread.....
.... but we gotta figure out SOME way to get Blago and Palin on some kind of "buddy" show on Fox.

Hours and hours of television fun. You betcha!

He could quote Kipling, she could respond by looking at him with a glazed over look in her eyes. Big fun.

18. I think she would do ok but.........
She's on the View already and subs in for Larry King from time to time, she has a lot going for her. I'd prefer it go to someone like Cenk from the Young Turks or someone else like him who isn't already on T.V.
