Why would they design beanie babies

and refer to them as being Malia and Sasha, I think its insulting to
the Obamas'.

These candy looks nothing like the kids and IMHO is a subtle way of
poking fun at the family.

Some here will see that as satire and I'll say to them, they must be
blind.

3. It's all about money

The company is simply cashing in on the popularity of the kids. The dolls look nothing like them. change the names and the sales would be cut in half (or more).

4. Ty is desperate

I remember seeing where people were trying to sell these cheaply made rag dolls for hundreds of dollars, based on artificial notions of scarcity. Eventually, enough people wised up when they couldn't resell some "Princess Diana" bear for anywhere near the price paid for it at a flea market.

Just the last gurgle from a dying company, Michelle probably breathed a puff of life into them when she didn't ignore the dolls. Nobody would have heard of them otherwise.

5. I think they already had the design on their 'line-up' and

thought it would be cute to name them Sasha and Malia. I don't think it was intentionally planned or they would have made them look different. Ty has been making these pre-teen dolls for awhile now and they all have similar looks.

I do think if they don't stop selling them and since they didn't ask permission, that they voluntarily donate all their proceeds from the sales to a charity of the Obama's choice.

and I agree, it is not complementary.
I was trying to think of anyone else (except bobble heads for professional athletes) who actually had a DOLL made of them while they were alive, and couldn't.

But at least they could have tried to make them look good, or even look LIKE Malia and Sasha.
