The mood on CNN right now is Daschle will survive

Senators won't reject one of their own at the end of the day, long story short.

Halperin, Begala, standing up for Daschle. Just quoted a strong statement of support from Sen. Reid on Daschle's ability to deal with health care. Amy Holmes is batting her eyes in apparent frustration.

9. Something to bear in mind:

Most of these guys are multi-millionaires. $100,000 seems like a lot to us, but it's pocket change to them. When Daschle was confronted with this tax whoopsie, his response was probably "Does the IRS take checks for that amount?"

It'd be like what would happen if your or I forgot to declare $1,000 in income. We'd probably pay a few hundred more than that when the interest and penalties were added in, but it wouldn't be unmanageable.
