It looks like President Obama is still playing the bipartisan game link to weekly address:
It REALLY unsettled me to see that it looks like he is going to give more concessions to the republicans:

2. he wasn't specific just says he's going to continue working with the republicans
on the bill. When he did this in the house we lost lots of infrastructure dollars and more is now on business tax cuts. Now it's in the senate and he's going to meet with senate repubs. Who know what he will strip away this time. Maybe nothing but we will have to wait and see.

7. I typed my opinion. This is a DISCUSSION board about presidential politics.
These are my beliefs. Last time he said he was going to be bipartisan he stripped away some great parts of the bill. He is saying it again. It scares me.

3. You fail to understand the Democrats in the Senate. He is going to have to make changes
Edited on Sat Jan-31-09 11:40 AM by Thrill
just to get the DEMOCRATS on board. Have you just started following how they work on that side? Ben Nelson has already started his bullshit. And as he goes Baucus, Bayh, Bill Nelson, Landrieu, Pryor, and Lincoln go.

So sorry to tell you, but as the Bill is now, we aren't likely to get all Dems on board. The good thing is the Infrastructure money is likely to Double in the Senate, because guys like Sanders, Kerry, Conrad and Wyden are going to fight for that

9. Yes, IMNSHO, the LIBERAL Republicans (Pro-Tax Cuts & War/Bombing) of the 1970s migrated ...
to our party and are now set up as DLC/Blue Dog/Third Way. :(

4. Face it Business runs the country--our leaders are fast becoming
figureheads who carry out the wishes of business. The GOP is supposedly
in trouble... they surely are getting what they want for Business .
Very powerful for a "weak party".

8. Does "it looks like" mean anything to you?
As the op already responded to you - it is his opinion given what he heard. He did not start his lead sentence Obama will.

Even had he not said "it looks like", it is possible to be wrong (if it turns out he is) without it being a lie. Did you lie on any test in HS where you did not get 100%.
