Obama to Labor--“Welcome back to the White House.”
With a Swipe at Bush, Obama Acts to Bolster Labor
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/31/us/politics/31obama.html

At a White House ceremony, the president signed three executive orders that he said would “reverse many of the policies towards organized labor that we’ve seen these last eight years, policies with which I’ve sharply disagreed.”

Appearing with Mr. Obama, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. drew applause when he flung another dart at former President George W. Bush, telling labor officials among those in the audience, “Welcome back to the White House.”

BTW- not to cross post but the "attacks on Bush" meme is on Yahoo too

1. This is such good news!
And he signed the Lily Ledbetter Act as his first bill. He's sending a strong signal than he intends to reverse the trend toward concentration of wealth in the hands of the priviledge few.

4. Actually, VP Biden said that.
Appearing with Mr. Obama, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. drew applause when he flung another dart at former President George W. Bush, telling labor officials among those in the audience, “Welcome back to the White House.”

I have to say, Joe Biden looks like he's having a lot of fun up there.

5. I'm not very computer savy, but I would love to see the video of
Obama and Ledbetter at the signing of this bill with Nazareth singing "Hair of the dog".

8. Obama is on a roll. The unions were huge in getting him nominated and then elected. . .
The guy will not forget those who put him in office.

10. He believes in unions, that's why they supported him.
It's because he believes that unions make a stronger America. Better work place and higher wages. Union wages set the bar higher instead of a race to the bottom. Then non-union companies have to keep wages comeptitve to get good people.

Then we have a middle class again.

It's not about payback.

12. I'm really glad to hear this.
When I would go to Dem Headquarters, I saw how hard labor worked for Obama. It's good to see them getting something for their investment.

17. Did you K&R my K&R?
Or were you just giving a K&R to the OP?

And more importantly, am I just saying all this as an excuse to kick it all over again?
