For any DU'ers out there who do NOT want to watch the Sperbowl right now...
CBS's 60 Minutes is re-broadcasting the special Road to the White House with Barack Obama, starting now in the East.

The show has some clips from 2 years ago, when Obama was not known to many of us.

(I know, most of you are watching the game, so sue me!!)

Arizona doesn't look like they know what's going on. I may take you up on this.

4. Actually I have been baking bread and making coleslaw and
getting ready to make Creamed Salmon and Peas on Toast (from the homemade bread!) for dinner. I totally forgot about the Superbowl. Without Broncos or Packers or 49ers in it, I just wasn't too interested (that, and the avocado wasn't ripe enough for guacamole, and I had no chips or beer on hand, so the enthusiasm just wasn't there).

Where were we?

Oh, yeah, 60 Minutes. Thanks for the heads up.

7. You''re very welcome, all of you who have chosen to watch a real
victory story, from the beginning of his campaign.

11. I actually just turned on the game. There's some infomercial or crap
on CBS. I'm in CA so 60 Minutes is MUCH later. It's only 4:30 PM here.

21. I'm watching the game or actually Bruce Springsteen and reading this discussion
Don't know about the meaning of (game) in the message but either way... one is engaged in sports or they are not. Not a big deal. At one time I was very engaged in sports... and you can have this same engagement when you watch the sport on TV.. to a certain extent.

I can't say the same thing for politics. I'm engaged in politics from the watching side of of excitement.

8. No Super Bowl here
We watched the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet instead. Two straight hours of frolicking puppies on a faux footbal field. Just in case you haven't gotten your minimum daily requirement of extreme cuteness.

Never heard of a game night on Sunday. ;-)

as soon as I saw your thread I turned to 60 Minutes. (I wasn't watching the game.) No matter HOW many times I see the Obamas and their rise to the top, I get the same feeling that I had the first time! :hi:

19. The Obama Presidential campaign is a story for history
This football game, most people will forget in 2-3 years.......Obama's story, no, everyone will always remember it.

Jen, you and I think alike, and love to watch and feel the same as Obama rose to the top of the world.

Obama is only 12 days as President, and there's little anyone can object to in his first 12 days.....

By the way, has anyone seen George W since he retired? Is he choking on pretzels tonight?

22. Exactly. And did you see the ad for a DVD about the Obama story
during a commercial break? If I bought it I'd be watching it constantly until it wore out. Whenever I see a new video on youtube about him (a song or some other inspirational montage video) I send it to my family members. Like the one of the Obama's dancing to Beyonce singing "At Last" at the first inaugural ball. My sister said she didn't really care about it since she already saw a clip on the news, but after she watched it, she said she cried.

Yup, he has really hit the ground running.

And Bush was seen at a women's basketball game in TX, the only place SOME people still like him.

Edited on Sun Feb-01-09 08:10 PM by JayMusgrove
They usually do on Sunday nights.

ooops, sorry it's a counselor to Condi Rice being interviewed.

She's obviously in trouble, though, with this interview.
