I think it was an off night and possibly he wasn't feeling well. I'm not a superfan by any means although I like his hits. But I saw him only a few months back and he sounded phenomenal and the whole band played phenomenally even to this non-fan. Not a bum note sung or played. So I don't think it's age or voices being shot as much as maybe other more specific factors. They also seemed to be playing things at a slightly slower tempo so maybe everyone was just sluggish.

Like you said though, the crowd seemed to like it.

I don't know how you could make a judgment on his voice, it was drowned out by the band and crowd noise.
