Im Through with Morning RNC: Mika, Joe, Pat and Halperin Blasting Obama
Edited on Mon Feb-02-09 07:18 AM by SuperTrouper
I just cannot believe the amount of garbage and RNC talking points that I am hearing every morning from these a-holes. It seems that they are convinced that Obama's stimulus is a "socialist" propaganda if you listen to Mika and Joe. I am finished with them. I am moving to CNN from today on...

1. Its unfair that Obama is being tagged with Pelosi and Obey's plan.
The stimulus package isn't what Obama promised, but hopefully it will be by the time it crosses his desk.

We need every freaking dollar in that bill to hit hard and fast or it isn't going to work.

2. I gave up on them a couple of months ago.
At 6:00 am, I turn to CNN. At least I can get some actual NEWS in the morning. CNN in the morning is not nearly as bad as Morning Joke.

9. This morning did me in for good, I think
After listening to the rude pile-up on John Podesta by Joe, Mika and Pat Buchanan who HATE the idea of giving a "tax cut" or rebate or whatever you want to call it to people so poor they don't pay any actual income tax. How they snickered and laughed as Podesta tried to explain that this money would be used and go directly into the economy. "Where they'll go to Walmart to buy cheap Chinese goods," snickered Pat Buchanan.

Podesta tried in vain to say - "these people do pay taxes, they pay payroll taxes" but the three pinheads could only repeat "They don't pay income taxes".

This just reinforces my belief that the tax fight has to be moved over from income taxes to payroll taxes. No caps. If you earn income, you pay a payroll tax.

Mika was also sickening on Friday - "Not a single Republican voted for the stimulus and I don't blame them!"

Anyway, they have made up their collective minds to ridicule and not participate in any meaningful discussion about the stimulus and I'm done with them.

11. Mika was pathetic on Friday - she made the ludicrous statement you spoke of, then went
completely silent during the very long and detailed ( INTELLIGENT ) discussion that Katrina and Dylan had on the stimulus package/economy. She had nothing to add - it was out of her league. All she can do is parrot RW talking points and say "hmmm".

21. I'd be very surprised if Katrina is never invited back after that debacle for Mika
on Friday.

I think what happened is that they read the polls. It's that simple. Obama is popular, the Repuke brand is so far in the toilet a plunger wouldn't get them out, and they are desperate. Joe rides back into town after his week off and starts the offense. He and Mika get all snarly. For some reason they think that is what the American people want to see more off: snarling in their faces.

Pitiful, huh?

12. These Morning Joke idiots insist 'payroll taxes' are not even taxes. Talk about elitists!
Edited on Mon Feb-02-09 08:23 AM by flpoljunkie
You have to ask yourself why they have so little concern for those who are suffering the most in our economy. Republicans are not only the water carriers for the elite 1%, who now own more than 20% of the nation's wealth, they have to treat the people at the bottom with unbelievable derision!

The last time the top 1% owned more than 20% of the nation's wealth was in the 1920's. Something these idiots on MSNBC might want to consider when they trash the people at the bottom of the economic ladder.

15. I'd like to have the $250 back the govt took out of my check on Friday then ! If I can't spend it,
it's a freakin TAX. It really doesn't help a lot if I manage to somehow get a little of it back a year or more from now.

16. A payroll tax holiday is definitely the quickest way to get money in people's hands.
Hope Congress decides to go with a payroll tax holiday, rather than rebate checks.

10. Stop watching that shit. Turn your station off MSNBC when you go to bed.
They count on us to support their ratings by leaving it their over night and waking up to it. Do you think republics are watching MSNBC? No they are watching FAUX news. Liberals who for some reason want to be pissed first thing in the morning are the only people who keep their ratings up.

19. I myself don't think the bill is that great the way it stands.
there needs to be more money toward a green economy, and infrastructure, instead of money for STD prevention. Even though some of the programs they put in are well needed, they aren't needed in this bill. I don't agree with the way they are bashing the "welfare" part of it. That part is totally needed. I hope Obama changes alot of this bill.

20. Did you miss NYT Reporter, David Sanger drumming up support for
Israel to bomb Iran? Says we don't have to worry about Israel flying over Iraq's air space to bomb because we just gave up our rights to control the air space. What a pathetic "pot-stirrer" Sanger is. His new book on what Obama faces in the Middle East and his going off on the economy which he seems to know nothing about, but thinks he's an expert on both foreign policy and economics.

Truly pathetic, propaganda and spin.

Heck, it's just a TV show. I enjoy hearing other points of view whether I agree with it or not. And you know what they always say. "Keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer."

32. I watch them faithfully. I also turn to Fox to find out what they are gnashing their teeth about
just so I stay ahead of the next ground war from the Republicans.

I like to see how Obama deflects the criticisms. The fact that Obama came to office two weeks ago and he must respond to every item that the Republicans screwed us over by doing is a new piece of irony to ingest each day.

When I get really angry, I do bring the talking point to the board and gripe about it. Less now than I did in the election.

Bill Clinton often engaged the right to an impasse. I'd like to see how Obama's strategy works.
