Sen. Mitt Gillibrand is preparing to do a 180 on immigration

My question is, didn't we skewer Mitt Romney for basically doing 180's on all his positions to run for president? Isn't it hypocritical to criticize him while praising Gillibrand?

And we, including the national media, skewered him for basically flipping on every single position he had. Why? Well how do you know where someone really stands if they basically flip to appease certain groups? Also, how do you trust someone to keep their positions? Will they flip again if the political winds change?

I don't know, I'd just would have an easier time trusting someone who was already progressive intead of someone changing to be one. At least with the old die-hard progressive, you know they will have your back when the chips are down.

WTF do you expect of her? She's clearly doing her best to represent the constituents of an entire state now, as opposed to only representing the constituents of a single district within that state.

11. There's a line between using your own judgment and carrying

out the will of the people you represent. Every elected official has this issue.

A politician can go against their own opinion if they believe those they represent strongly favor the opposite.
