McCain to Obama: "Republicans MUST be part of Stimulus Talks"
Excerpts:

Senator John McCain on Monday heaped more pressure on Barack Obama to modify his 819-billion-dollar stimulus package and insisted the US president "seriously negotiate" with Republicans on a new version...

"Look, this crisis started with housing," McCain said. "It's going to end when we stabilize housing -- home prices."

Jon Kyl, the Republicans' second-ranking senator, has called for Obama and his Senate allies to "start from scratch" on the stimulus bill.

19. Yup it started with deregulation and irresponsible tax cutting and
job exporting unfair trade. We've destroyed our economy following the plan laid out by a man that was already beginning to show signs of increasing memory loss and developing senility.

4. Note to McCain
They have been, they just didn't get everything they want. Something they are not used to following the disappearance of bu$h and Cheney.

5. Republicans got us into this mess with their endless war and tax cuts.
I think it's way past time they became irrelevant to the stimulus discussion. Sen Kerry has it right. Fuck them.

8. Scew the repugs
Their horrendous policies is what got us into this mess into the first place. Obama doesn't take orders from these fools. They need to get with the program or get the hell out of the way. They no longer run things. They seem to forget we just had an election where we voted those fools out.

Edited on Mon Feb-02-09 02:23 PM by Every Man A King
it started with the US voluntarily destroying its manufacturing base thru "free trade", then the money had no where to flow except real estate.

21. Who do you think you are to dictate to the president? Just four months ago you said
that the fundamentals of the economy were fine. Obama is reaching out to the GOP, but he's not going to give them the farm.
