2. Funny how most of the "Nay" votes come from places
where people walk around in white sheets.

And no, that's not "South bashing." It's southern RepuKKKe bashing, but Idaho counts too.

3. All "nays" from red states, if I'm not mistaken.
Nice surprise that my former senator (Sessions, R-AL) voted "yea."

5. These (the nays) are the most partisan of the partisans.
They are dinosaurs and will probably disappear from politics within the next ten years.

10. But thankfully not TN.
And now that Bob and Lamar have had practice using the "Yea" button, let's hope they'll use it again on the stimulus package.

7. Strange..
.
.

I can't imagine Mark Begich voting against him, so he must've been unavailable for some reason.

When the local news reports on it, I'll have to update this with the reason..

9. Keep An Eye On Those Repugnican Yea Votes...
These are the people who you can or will need to pick off for future legislation. Not that all are moderates, but it's clear those who voted No are useless and should be marginalized...those that voted yea should be approached or, in some cases, rewarded, for doing the right thing and voting with President Obama.

Remember, the game here is to pick off a couple Repugnicans when you need them...not to make the entire party love us or want to be like us. It's to put pressure on a Snowe, Specter or Grassley that will be facing election in 2010 in states that are predominately blue and letting the GOOP struggle to keep their coalition together.

11. You mean these? (I had to re-organize the list to make sense out of it
because my brain isn't that facile. I had to separate them by yeas and nays, then I separated the yeas by party so I could "see" better). Here's the Yea R's as a group if anyone's interested...

Alexander (R-TN), Yea
Bennett (R-UT), Yea
Bond (R-MO), Yea
Chambliss (R-GA), Yea
Collins (R-ME), Yea
Corker (R-TN), Yea
Graham (R-SC), Yea
Grassley (R-IA), Yea
Gregg (R-NH), Yea
Hatch (R-UT), Yea
Isakson (R-GA), Yea
Kyl (R-AZ), Yea

McCain (R-AZ), Yea
Sessions (R-AL), Yea
Murkowski (R-AK), Yea

Voinovich (R-OH), Yea

13. Thank You...
I'm definitely bookmarking...it could be handy when looking at specific bills and the targeting I'm sure President Obama will be using to get these votes. While people are critical of his charm offensive, he's not trying to win 40 GOOP votes or get every bill to pass by 80 votes...he'll take what he can get where he can get it...and these are the people he'll be using to do it.

Cheers...

15. Two CO senators voting Yea.. It feels nice
A year ago it would have been Allard doing his usual lapdog Repug schtick and who knows where Salazar would have voted.

Colorado is getting bluer all the time.
