McConnell uses Obama against Dems
http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/mcconnell-uses-obama-against-dems-2009-02-02.html

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) invoked the words of President Obama on Monday to pressure Democratic leaders into accepting an alterative version of the economic stimulus package.

The Republican leader sought to use the president’s words as a way to win over uncommitted Republicans and Democrats who are not yet sold on the nearly $890 billion plan being debated this week in the chamber.

Quoting Obama, McConnell said at a news conference that Congress should “trim” out the items in the package “that are not relevant to putting people back to work.” He then cited Obama’s praise for GOP ideas: “They have some good ideas and I want to make sure those ideas are incorporated.”

Despite confident talk from Obama and Senate Democratic leaders predicting eventual GOP support for their plan, members of the Senate’s ideological center so far have resisted backing the legislation.

Heh, a lot of crap could afford to be cut from the package I am sure...

3. Democrats have some how allowed the Repukes to have the Populist message
Unreal.

They're the ones out there talking about doing something about housing. That 4 percent interest rate and 15,000 credit for buying a home. Is something even though is expensive, is something the regular joe would love to hear.

Democrats never learn how to frame the message in the media. wow just wow

5. That's the great thing about being the minority.
You can talk all the happy talk you like, while being under no obligation to produce results.
