OK, time for some revenge. Which Republicans should get ruined?
We all know that so many of the scandals that hit people like Geithner and Daschle are 1% substance, 99% hot air from Rovian types. Everyone's fucked up their taxes.

That's the way the Republicans have poisoned the atmosphere in Washington - unless your record's positively angelic, the hyenas will find something to use to tear you down.

So I suggest we respond in kind. Tear down a few Republicans.

Maybe Holder should make it his first mission to destroy Karl Rove. He's an easy target - he pretty much flat-out admitted to wrongdoing and brazenly skipped out on Congressional subpoenas.

Rove should be in prison. No, under the prison. He's the first Rethug that should be made example of.

Who else? I want revenge. And I want the Rethugs to know that when they decide that destroying people's lives is just fun sport in the Beltway, that they'll end up on the receiving end as well.

2. We shouldn't be advocating political prosecutions.
That's one of the things they did. We're not them.

Holder should go after Rove, but not because he's a Republican, and not for revenge, but simply because he's committed crimes.

5. The nice thing about hitting Rove is...
we don't have to change anything we're already doing - he already broke the law, he already should be punished. I just think we need to turn the heat up on him until he's extra-crispy.

7. Oh, for pity sake.
Get off your pony. There are plenty of us Dems out here who voted for changing Washington and closing the revolving door who truly cringed when this nomination was made.

But, bro, keep on keepin' on, if that's what does it for you. When we all wake up in hell in that proverbial handbasket because we continued to play that childish game, I hope you are willing to share your ice water.

We've too many overpowering problems in this nation right now to expend energy on this sort of crap.

9. Well said
We are the ones that always cried about the obscene compensations and tax evasions by the rich friends of the Republicans. With Geithner, I am willing to look over since he is a skilled individual with a track record to do something about the economy.

But with Daschle, it is not just the failing to pay tax. It is also the close "consultations" with the same players whom he is expected to regulate and, one hopes, drop their source of income.

UnitedHealth was mentioned. This is an insurance company that gave its former CEO compensation close to $100 million, for shuffling papers, for cutting payment to the real health care providers - doctors, nurses, hospitals - while making their shareholders happy and rich.

If we have a real health care reform, the UnitedHealths of the world should be out of business.

21. And Daschle's being a lobbyist is a great reason to oppose and fight his nomination. Tax mistakes?
Not so much, IMO.

10. Daschle and Geithner deserved what they got.
"We gotta go fuck up the other guys to save face" is a DeLay thought, and DeLay thoughts are what make Republicans scummy.

13. Well the premise is fine, but your assertion is wrong
there was a lot more than 1% substance in these guys not paying taxes owed, although I cut a little more slack on Geither because his circumstance was more questionable.

I certainly agree that we should look for opportunities for a little payback. Personally, I wouldn't worry about Rove... he is out of office and already being looked at on the US Attorneys issue. I think the targets should be people whose failure would actually make a difference.

Could someone finally pin some real shit on Rush?
How about going after McConnell or some other nutjobs in the senate?

14. "Dirty Diaper" Vitter ought to be on the list to go.
And so should Cornyn.

Oh, there are just so many. It would be easier to list the ones that aren't foul.

15. could you explain what Karl Rove has to do with Daschle's tax problems?
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 02:49 PM by onenote
Even a little?

Jeez, I had hoped we might have a respite from the tinfoil that Karl ROve is the ultimate puppermaster who makes everything in the world that happens, happen.
