but he and Emanuel can't get over whatever petty differences they had with Howard Dean?

It's hypocrisy.

AND Rahm's efforts to tank Dean should be at your disposal.

22. I've never heard of a spat between Obama and Dean.
Dean provided Obama with a template for his on line campaign and also, got him votes in states the establishment didn't want to wade into.

But, Obama is close to a few people who did have problems with Dean. And it's pretty obvious that Dean is being frozen out as in, for someone who contributed so much to this victory, you don't see many pix of Obama and Dean together.

AND act it out in public. It must be peripheral people -- or, that's my take anyway.

12. This was reported on CNN a few minutes ago..
Wolf mentioned that he had been getting a lot of emails from Dean friends and supporters and asked John King if Dean was a realistic candidate for HHS. King said that even though Dean has campaigned openly for the job and is qualified, because of the bad blood between the Obama team and the Dean team, he doesn't have a shot.

Maybe because he was leader? They played all kinds of really ugly games in the election he lost. My impression is, he knows where the graveyard is.

It's hard to believe the Democrats knocked him out for a lesser sin than the other guy had committed.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2009/1/12/23455/5870/63/683379

""As far as I know, it's not true. I have not clashed with Obama's advisors."

According the the report, Dean noted that he did clash with one of Obama's advisors but it occurred before the person became an advisor to Obama. He also said it would be very hard to change a trip to American Samoa for a press conference.

"You know, people like to say those kinds of things just to stir things up," Dean said. "I'm not interested in stirring things up. We have a lot of important problems in front of us and we need to deal with that...not gossip and the internet."

Gov. Dean also said that he didn't know if he was invited to the news conference because he was on his way to American Samoa when it happened."

And there's no use putting quotation marks around the DLC's active hostility to Dean for the last five years. Good grief, what does it get you, finally?

We're going to lose someone as talented as Dean over the petulance of a few control freaks. That's just stupid.

46. "I could care less" = dismissal. That's just English comprehension.
And while Dean made those statements in public, his brother and others contradicted them. I don't pretend to second guess Howard Dean. He's his own man and a very good one, at that.

47. Just because I could care less doesn't
mean I dissmissed the article. You can take in old facts like that old article, then look at new articles like the one I liked to, and come to the conclusion that what happened then has no bearing on what is happening now. At least we can agree that Howard Dean is a good man.

That doesn't sound like a compliment to me. It's Rahm but not only Rahm. It's all the establishment types who are still pissed at Dean for being successful at anything they didn't control, imo. And that's stupid because he brings so much to the table.

He has always hated Dean, and he trashed Obama plenty too. Is he very close to Obama now? I realize there are establishment types who resent Dean's successes. I'm not sure how Obama feels personally, though.
