What if Kevin Bacon DIDN'T pay HIS taxes?

How many degrees of separation worth of behavior is an elected, a candidate or a nominee responsible for? His own, his wife's, his children's, his ex wife, his girlfriend, his mistress, his parents, his fraternity brother? his business partner? Where is the line drawn?

Rhetorical question that doesn't seem so rhetorical anymore...

1. If an appointee's mistress is a tax deadbeat that might pose a confirmation problem.
