Dumbass Quote of the Week
From W's former chief of staff, Andy Card:

I found that Ronald Reagan and both President Bushes treated the Oval Office with tremendous respect. They treated the Office of the Presidency with tremendous respect. And some of that respect was reflected in how they expected people to behave, how they expected them to dress when they walked into the symbol of freedom for the world, the Oval Office. And yes, I'm disappointed to see the casual, laissez faire, short sleeves, no shirt and tie, no jacket, kind of locker room experience that seems to be taking place in this White House and the Oval Office.

Because that's what really matters. You need to be well dressed while you're destroying the separation of powers, suspending habeas corpus, spying on American citizens and authorizing torture.

1. It's a fucking room!
The ass thinks that the physical office is all that matters

It is how they treated the position they held that matters and none of them had any respect for that!

3. ronald reagan
ordered the murder of priests and nuns and children in Central America from the oval office. BUT, he had his coat and tie on so that made it alright.

4. I really wondered how someone as dumb as Andy Card could wind up
in DC. But then George W Bush came along.

9. That was at a speech when he was wearing a Tuxedo. And possibly
his boots with the Presidential Seals on the fronts.
How are you going to show a frat boy that it's the man, not the clothes.

6. Mr. Card, the symbol of hard work is rolling up your shirtsleeves and
actually getting to work seriously.

This is another 'flag lapel pin' moronic statement coming from someone who thinks appearance is everything and actually doing anything substantive is unnecessary. I hope he pees acid in his 'outrage'.

7. I'm not surprised he's never heard of "rolling up your sleeves".
I'm also not surprised that he thinks that being president is more like being an actor playing the part of president than someone who is actually making decisions and getting things done.

8. FDR, JFK, HST, LBJ, TR...all worked w/o a "suit" most of the time
Teddy Roosevelt used to play w/the kids on the floor of the Oval Office, occasionally holding Heads of State in a holding pattern until the banter was over.

The suit does not make the man, it creates an illusion...a man or woman, can get the job done regardless of what they wear. All that is necessary is integrity.

10. Reagan wouldn't have KNOWN if he was in a suit & tie or in his
pajamas. He was out to lunch from Day 1.

I'm glad old Andy has his eye on the important things.

11. Exactly better to be casual with clothing than to be casual with the founding document.

When you're taking a gigantic mega-dump on the constitution and destroying countless lives you better be dressed appropriately for it.

17. It's just style over substance bullshit
To Andy and the Bushies it really didn't matter if you were competent or what your politics were accomplishing or destroying... it only mattered that you maintain the facade. I suspect the main distinction they were trying to make was you can't get a blowjob if you keep your coat on.

18. Typical Moron "thought" process
Wear the shirt and tie but fuck everything up. It's what's done that's important. Style over substance is what got this country in the shitter in the first place.

Regards
