John Breaux for HHS Sec?
I think he could call in some favors and get things done. He's respected across the aisle and is familiar with DC politics. Dick Gephardt is another possibility.

11. I'm sure he is loved by Republicans
because they don't really want real Healthcare Reform. So no doubt they would welcome him.

I think you should go look at some of his ratings from the the Public Health organizations. And he's not even Pro-Choice. Do we want someone who is not Pro-Choice running healthcare? Come on folks are we forgetting how much of a pain in the ass he was when he was in the Senate?

Isn't he one of the ones stopping getting cheap drugs from Canada?

4. Breaux is a BFEE fixer in a donkey mask. He and Poppy were BFFs even before Bill came along
and stole Poppy's heart for favorite Dem fixer.

12. And Howard would still be far better than either of them
Maybe that disqualifies him from the outset?

13. I don't think he'd take the pay cut, to be honest
Breaux could've coasted to a fourth term in 2004 and continued to be a powerful figure during a very important time in American History. Instead he quit so he could get rich. Not that I have a problem with that, but I doubt he'd go back to public service.
