Obama is scheduled to give a "presidential address to Congress" on Feb. 24 in the House chamber, according to congressional sources.

President Barack Obama is scheduled to give a "presidential address to Congress" -- which serves as an alternative to the traditional State of the Union address in a president's first year -- on Feb. 24 in the House chamber, according to congressional sources.

The White House had previously confirmed that the President had plans to address a joint session of Congress at some point in time, but had not announced a date for his visit to the Hill.

The late Feb address is nothing new. Clinton gave his Feb 17th in 1993.
