MSNBC JUST DID IT AGAIN-now claimed Obama's approval rating fell from the 80s to 60s in a WEEK!
Edited on Thu Feb-05-09 06:16 PM by jenmito
This has to STOP! David Shuster just said even though Obama's approval ratings are in the 60s, they were in the 80s "just a week ago" and Richard Wolfe said he can't afford to keep losing 10 points a week! PLEASE join me in calling them at 1-212-664-4444 to tell them to stop LYING-the 83% approval rating was for his TRANSITION. His first approval rating was 68%, reported on Jan. 24th.

1. Where the hell is Keith? We need to hear from him.
David Shuster is a lightweight and a media puppet. Ignore him.

16. But that won't keep him from setting the record straight.
What will, however, is if he decided to make this a vacation week.

Come on, Keith, I know you wanted to read Joe Torre's new book and all, but c'mon!

3. It's not just Shuster. Matthews first used this "statistic" three days ago and every anchor on
MSNBC has been repeating this lie ever since, even though many of us have been calling them with the facts.

10. I couldn't believe it! David says Obama fell 20 points in ONE week then Richard uses
"10 points a week" which contradicts what Shuster said, and BOTH are lies.

12. and wasn't it really a two point drop?
From like, the second highest for a new president? I posted the data on another board from what you and FrenchieCat had posted on this topic, and a lot of people were like "Yeah, I thought that that didn't sound right when I heard it."

15. Now it's 3-from 68% to 65%. His 83% was for his transition. I just called again...
for the THIRD day, and they put me through to the machine and I told them the facts and then said if I wanted to listen to lies I'd watch Faux.

5. When Mark Twain said there were "lies, damn lies, and statistics," he could haved added polls.
Edited on Thu Feb-05-09 06:19 PM by Fridays Child
The liars will just tell you that, according the the polls they consulted, their numbers are good.

18. But they're using one poll of his TRANSITION approval, and another of his PRESIDENTIAL approval.
And they KNOW this. Many people here called and told them the facts. They claimed they'd look into it to check whether their reporting is right or not. They obviously did no such thing.

9. Yeah, I heard that too..
This the compelling "eye capturing" story they are pushing -- "Obama is struggling" -- even if it is not quite factual. In their desperation to survive the MSM is turning into tabloid news.

13. when the MSNBC anchors
Edited on Thu Feb-05-09 06:29 PM by ErinBerin84
(well, Morning Joe crew for Chuck Todd, Tamron hall for Mark) asked Chuck Todd (political director) and Mark Murray (deputy political director) about Obama's dropping poll numbers, they were both like "Uh, when you have a 66% approval rating, you're doing fine, believe me." If they aren't falling for this shit, how come we keep hearing it? Asswipes at the network.

19. I actually like Shuster more than the others
but someone at MSNBC is obviously not doing the fact checking...and they said that people had been calling and complaining about the false poll numbers and that they would "alert the producers", so we know it's intentional now.

28. Shuster's one of the good guys. He cares about truth.
If he's been repeating this, it's because he's been misled.

Honest, Keith wouldn't let him do the show at this point if he were a wingnut tool.
