Diaper Dave: GOP "scared to death" of President Obama's popularity

Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) said Tuesday that his fellow Republican Senate colleagues are “scared to death” by President Barack Obama’s popularity.

“What’s been going on in a lot of these votes is that some folks are just scared to death quite frankly of the new president and his polling numbers and sort of holding under the table,” Vitter told radio host Laura Ingraham. An audio clip of the remark was later posted on the conservative blog Hot Air.

Vitter insisted that that “half” of the Senate Republicans are intimidated by Obama’s high approval rating, which according to the latest Gallup poll stands at 64 percent.

As evidence, he pointed at the 19 Republicans who voted to confirm Eric Holder as Attorney General. “Just look at that short list and that gives you the general sense of who I’m talking about,” he said.

Holder was confirmed Monday night by a 75-21 vote, with Republicans accounting for every no vote.

“Eric Holder had a primary role in the Marc Rich pardon,” Vitter said. “He just fails the first test for that job in particular which is political independence. He fails that test big time.”

The Louisiana Republican has voted against each of Obama’s appointments that was not confirmed by a voice vote.

That's why MSM is lying about it and trying to tear it down. He's a threat.
President Obama's popularity needs to bite them in the butt big.

yanno.. but, Bush had a higher one after 911. He just allowed his criminality to show for the rest of the time.

5. But if you look...
If you look at the Bush approval/disapproval trend line it was falling prior to 9/11. So the only occurrence that ever gave Bush a significant rise in approval was allowing 3000+ American citizens to be killed on his watch. Doesn't seem right does it.

2. Yes, so much that the corporate media is slashing his numbers.
Claiming he lost 20% in a week or whatever. We really should strike hard while the iron is hot.

8. They are in panic mode, which is why there is such a big push
to talk Obama down by everyone from Cheney to Rush to Lindsay whatever his name is. They are scared for their do-nothing jobs. They are scared of the next congressonal election. They are trying to fuck up everything Obama wants done for no reason at all, since they have no real program or philosophy but to say "no".
