Jobs and the Presidents who loose them

I was looking at an article in the Financial Times (here {http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/34d6448a-f44d-11dd-8e76-0000779fd2ac.html?nclick_check=1})
My eyes drifted over to a chart with date and great amounts of jobs lost all most had one thing in common.

here is the chart with my observation added.

Please note these are the presidents at the time of the announcements. It takes 6 months to a year for economic policy to create much effect in unemployment data. So just as no one in their right mind would blame President Obama for number coming out less then a month after his inauguration you can't blame Ford for what Nixon created.

in 1974 (Ford).

2. Those numbers reflect January 2009 and prior .......

President Obama was Prez for 11 days in the month of January......6/02/2009 -598 Obama D

So this chart doesn't tell me as much as I'd like to know.

5. I just happened on the chart of layoffs. then noticed the dates

almost perfectly coincided with GOP rule.
