And then, when you actually have something to bitch about after this bill is actually passed, get back to me.

Thanks!

1. No. It's the MSM!
Their aid in GW's reign of terror was not enough to convince??

2. But they're not in a position to insist anything. Are there enough blue-dogs
that would vote with the gop to screw things up?

3. I don't think so. I think our reps should vote for what they were elected
for. It's time to help Americans and prove who they're 'for'. I do think the media is a big part of what gets out.

9. I think it's time to appeal to the memory of those we elected to change things.
Let's remind them that there is no room for failure or compromise with the GOP, who would rather watch this country fail than see it succeed under Democratic leadership.

6. Um.... what? Who won again? Who controls both houses?
How doesn't have the balls to do anything with those victories?

I'd blame the republicans first if THE REPUBLICANS WERE IN POWER. But they're not.

7. The Republicans aren't in charge, they don't set the agenda...
We do. Our leadership let them make changes, and our leadership let us down.

We have a right to complain about this, we didn't elect them just to keep the Republicans in charge of what passes and what doesn't. We didn't elect a large Democratic majority so that the Republicans could demand whatever legislative agenda they want.

The rethugs insisted on the stimulus changes, but someone had to give them the ability to make those changes. That someone was our leadership in Congress. We have to wake up to that fact or we won't be able to change it.

8. Difficult changing ignorance about economics overnight., that stimulus is spending.
Obama needs to spend more time educating, and continually telling media that their old supply side, tax cut ideas need to be corrected. Updated for the long crisis ahead, and suggest reading Paul Samuelson and Econ 101 books..

When the 1973 recession hit, the news business realized they didn't reporters who could talk about. My hubby was in the second class of a mid-career fellowship at Columbia on economics, and the education tough and rewarding. He's been covering business intelligently ever since, adding a lot to regional dailies as business editor. Even winning nat'l writing awards in the 80s.

Those where the golden years, when reporters/editors had independence from advertising, and never used 'sources said'. Pendulums swing, but hubby always says that media doesn't have to be fair, and don't expect it.
