You know, the insignificant crap like food stamps, protecting women from domestic violence, education, the stuff that's so much less important than being able to blow other countries up :sarcasm:

Sure, he could veto the bill and make them start from scratch, but he said himself that we need to act NOW.

Does President Obama (:patriot:) have the power to add these parts back in after the bill passes or something?

1. Yes once it reaches conference. things can be added back.
Nancy P. has said that is what she wants to do once it reaches that point but we shall see.

3. So in other words,
despite the GOP's best efforts to fuck us all over again, it's looking good?

4. Pelosi does, but she will be essentially fighting Obama
he helped negotiate this bill and wants to sign it quick. Which means as few changes as possible in the conference. He's going to be out there campaigning for action now, the time for haggling is over.

5. Pass them in different bills
Collins said she was open to having some things in later bills.

6. An idea
I saw a number of Republicans stating that there were things in the 'Jobs Bill' that were really just regular budget items. So I think President Obama should just take those items that were cut and have the Democrats put them in this years budget bill. Do what the Republicans do keep adding amendments to any bill you can until you get what you want.
