The media is selling the GOP talking point that Obama's stimulus package is being rushed through Congress. Let's consider this allegation in light of what Congress did when it rushed the PATRIOT Act in 2001 without reading the bill and without any substantive hearings or debate.

The Patriot Act was introduced Rep. James Sensenbrenner, Wisconsin on October 23, 2001.

The Act was signed by President Bush on October 26, 2001
