Ron Christie: "He (President) doesn't need to campaign but sit in his office and govern."
Edited on Sun Feb-08-09 10:59 AM by Skidmore
Okay, we have the new Republican angle on this. Obama should not talk directly to the people, only Congress. Talking to the people is "campaigning."

Okay, let's kick back and demand to hear from our President. We want to hear from him.

Oops, forgot to add he was talking to Alex Witt on MSNBC just now.

Keep adjusting those deck chairs, Ron.

6. Christie has zero credibility in my books. He was a Bush stooge for the past eight years.
He was a staffer for John Kasich when he was in Congress and was a sorry excuse for a public servant.

7. Another talking point: Obama on network TV loses $ for America!
Yep, it's true! President Obama addressing the nation (all that "talk talk talk" he's always doin') will cost million$ in ad revenue. He's just pilin' more hurt on our economy!

Really just a sad story, isn't it?

:sarcasm:

Oh yes, how dare the President soil himself by taking the time to listen to the concerns of lowly American citizens.

They'd love it if he never directly addressed the American people again, in fact--because when he does, they lose.

13. Sounds like Ron's afraid of what Obama might say.
Explain how a Democratically Elected President is supposed to govern while isolating himself from the public. Hes a President, not an emperor.

Although, Mr Ron's attitide does explain a few things about what went wrong for the past 8 years.

22. Precisely! Christie, along with the rest of the pukes are TERRIFIED of what Obama will accomplish
by getting in front of the American public. Their MSM shield will be gone, their merry-go-round "analysis" will be gone, and they will be left with Mr. President standing on stage defending this bill and explaining in simple and clear language why he is doing what he is doing and what exactly it will accomplish.

After hearing about the results Obama achieved in the meeting with the 9/11 and Cole victims' families, I am confident Obama is going to do a very good job with this town-hall tour.

The pukes are really going to have their eyes opened to the concerns that real people are having. Real people that don't have loads of stock-options, deep savings accounts, cushy jobs or any jobs for that matter. This is going to further expose the pukes for the absolute tool-shed rats that they are.

17. Give it up Ron. We are in a crisis and the president needs to lead.
This country craves leadership. Perhaps Ron has forgotten how Bush and Cheney had their ugly pusses planted on our teevees to "campaign" for something that was not a crisis, the Iraq War.

The only thing I fault Obama for in this regard is that he hasn't done this sooner. Part of the economic downward spiral is psychological and Obama needs to demonstrate front and center that an adult is in charge. And wake up call moron, people love to hear Obama speak. The corporate media knows their ratings will be high so their concerns are in no way related to losing ad dollars.

Dear Republicans, people are not comforted by hearing the tired old worn out "tax cut our way out of this" mantra. The phrase "tax cut" has been used so many times during the past 8 years that, even if not consciously, people likely associate it with economic disaster. I believe Pavlov had a theory on this.

Does Ron and his corporate masters really believe that Americans who are frighten for their futures, and this time legitimately, care more about their opinion than what Obama has to say? I'd say Obama's ratings are just a twitch higher.

They need to fricking give it up. No one is listening anymore. And this is their dumbest tact yet.

18. Let's see here:
Edited on Sun Feb-08-09 12:27 PM by Proud Liberal Dem
1.) President Obama has too many "perks" as POTUS.

2.) President Obama's prime-time speeches/appearances threaten our precious prime-time television programming (and, of course, the advertisers)

3.) President Obama should just sit behind a desk all day and shouldn't be out meeting with/listening to people and trying to promote his ideas.

Of course, NONE of these things mattered when Bush (or any other previous Republican President) was in office

:eyes: :puke:

If Obama doesn't say anything, the MSM will just simply ignore or marginalize the dems.

... arguably one of his strongest skills ... they're screwed. By mid-week, calls will start pouring into GOP congressman, driven by the fuel of the rhetorical flourish ..... it will be a thing of beauty to behold.

25. Campaigning?
Nope. Campaigning is something President Obama did when he ran for office. What he's doing now is called being the President of the United States and communicating with the American people.

I maintain that the GOP will continue to do everything they can to diminish Obama's popularity. They will find any and all excuses to make him look bad, all at this country's expense. Because instead of doing their jobs, they are wasting time trying to regain their power.
