So what exactly is the GOP's argument?
They blast the stimulus package because they claim the money won't be spent fast enough to stimulate the economy. They lament a lack of infrastructure spending in the bill, then that very same week vote in lockstep AGAINST including $25 billion of infrastructure spending.

You've got Steele on This Week justifying the GOP-driven axe for school construction funds saying, essentially, "yes, that would create short term construction WORK, but not long-term JOBS".

George S. then asks Steele about why the GOP opposes including Pell Grant funding in the stimulus bill and Steele responds saying, essentially, "that's a long-term solution, what we need is jobs for the short-term".

:wtf:

So what is it? Are they for creating short-term jobs or against it? Are they for improving infrastructure or against it?

So far the only message that I'm consistently getting from them is that they love tax cuts and hate education.

What a mess of a morally and politically bankrupt party the GOP is.

2. Have they been repeatedly contradicting themselves, like Steele did?
I wish I could've posted a picture of George S.'s face after Steele's complaint about Pell grants. It was priceless.

3. They simply want to be record opposing it so they can say "I told you so" in 2010.
They are pathetic party-first losers.

5. It's the same one: give tax cuts to people that make money off the labor of others...
while gripping/grinning, playing golf & watching graphs go up & down (republicans actually think that *is* work :eyes:) knowing full-well they will never create new jobs but horde it especially in a recession/depression and vote for them throughout for having done so. It's a form of 'protection' you just can't buy from Lloyd's of London
