Memo to Steele: The American people decided they don't want your ideas

Michael Steele says the Democrats are ignoring good ideas coming from Republicans.

On November 4th, the American people decided that they've had enough of GOP ideas. By a massive mandate, they said "no more!"

If the GOP *HAD* good ideas, they wouldn't have been swept out of power in such a demonstrative fashion.

2. Why don't they understand that?
That's why I love every time the President says "we don't want your old, ineffective, busted ass tax cuts for the wealthy because they didn't work!"

okay..that's really how I would say it....but you get the meaning! ;)

3. Those who actually listen
to him probably agree. They also wish Bush had a shot at a third term.

4. Republicans are so hung up on their theory
They want it to be true so badly. They can't stand it if it isn't. It's like they will implode if it turns out that government can do any good.

5. But even if their theories were sound they don't have enough competent people to implement them
...most republicans I talk to don't have ryme nor reason for why thy think the way they do outside of Limbaugh told them to

6. I'm beginning to think Michael Steele has been set up as a scapegoat
The party can then blame him for their demise, therefore (in their simplistic moronic mind) they can say the Republican leadership headed by Michael Steele savaged Bush's wonderful legacy and set the party back 50 years.

They can also blame Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber for the same reasons.

See they do things that make them look stupid while all the time working on their real agenda which is to have power.

7. Then why are we negotiating with them as though their ideas have merit??
That's the first and greatest problem of this fiasco.

I am all for negotiation. But it should be based solely on the fact that they still have 40+ seats (for now), and it should never be in such a way as to legitimize their policy positions, which are absurd.

9. compromise
I heard someone on TV say that suppose you and your girlfriend want to go out to dinner. You want steak and she wants old tires and chicken shit. How do you compromise on that? If we gave the Repugs only half of what they want, the stimulus bill would be so conflicted and watered down as to be ineffective. You might be able to compromise on certain parts of a bill but you can't really compromise when there are such vast philosophical differences between Dems and Repugs.

10. We 're already suffering from too many of their ideas. They suck.
They just don't believe in science and facts, so they never change their minds.

Tax cuts don't work. It's been done. Miserable EPIC failure. Now go away.
