I've seen Krugman's thing and I saw the post from 1776, but if anyone can either summarize or direct me to a summary of what has been taken out and what has been added in wrt the bill's current condition in the Senate, I would greatly appreciate it.
I'm a law student, and I'm afraid that post-Inaug I've had to concentrate mostly on staying afloat. We're discussing the bill in my legislation class tomorrow, and while I get some of the basic changes, I'd like to be a little more on top of what's happening. I also genuinely would like to understand better what they've done to this thing just on a concerned citizen's level. It doesn't sound good. One thing I can't figure out - would a Repub be behind the push to keep people from getting hit by the ATM? Doesn't that help poor people? Is this just populist posturing?
I'm sorry to make such an uneducated inquiry, and embarrassed to be deficiently educated on this topic, but I thought I might be able to turn to DU for some help.
Again, I'm specifically looking to understand what the Senate has done to the bill that left the House.
Many thanks.
