Alaska Senate: Palin's husband, staff in contempt
http://ap.lubbockonline.com/pstories/20090207/385573800.shtml

The Alaska Senate on Friday found Gov. Sarah Palin's husband and nine state employees, including some of her top aides, in contempt for ignoring subpoenas to testify in the Legislature's Troopergate investigation.

The Senate said it would seek no punishment for the witnesses' failure to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee last fall in an investigation into the governor's firing of her public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan.

"During the Monegan investigation, we were reminded that the legislative branch's power of subpoena is an important one, and must be respected by the executive branch," said Sen. Hollis French, D-Anchorage. "With this resolution, the Senate is making it clear that we are a coequal branch of state government."

The witnesses later provided sworn written statements after a lawsuit filed on behalf of seven of the state employees by state Attorney General Talis Colberg was dismissed in Superior Court. The case was appealed to the state Supreme Court.

1. Our local paper (Anchorage Daily News) said that...
.
.

...Todd Palin, after being told of the contempt charge, "shrugged" and took off to go race in the "Iron Dog"

Here's the photos the Anchorage Daily News ran of the Palin's at the start of that race today:

Proof that neither Sarah or her husband give a damn.. I think she plans to high-tail it out of Alaska for the limelight soon..

3. She doesn't waste any time showing up for the start of the Iron Dog

but weeks after we first learned of the food/fuel crisis in western Alaska, she has yet to make an appearance.

She's only in it for the photo ops, the ceremonial stuff. She hasn't a clue about real governing.

4. She has a clue . . .
She knows her governing, fiscal policy and such is purely based on photo ops. She's starting photo op based economy.

7. Why must they always use their children for props?
I love children but can't they pay a baby sitter?

Maybe Bristol's MIL would sit for the kids or is she in jail yet?

8. They are celebrating the starving people in their state.
Who can barely afford one meal a day.

Yeah, she's a great governor!

5. Why wouldn't they ignore the legislature?
They specifically said there would be no punishment. Now, if I were issued a traffic citation but told, "hey, you were bad but we aren't going to punish you" I would have pretty much the same reaction. The only thing the Palins respect is power, and obviously the Alaska Legistlature has none it chooses to wield.
