OH MY GOD I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!
Has ANY President ever done this before, done town hall meetings AFTER they've been elected, and NOT for the purpose of re-election?

He's so awesome. :loveya:
(and yes I'm having a koolaid-drinking moment, don't like it, click somewhere else and keep it moving.

they would go out into the parking lot and see someone with an anti-Bush bumper sticker on their car? Then they would go inside and find the people and remove them from the event. My, how times have changed......for the better. I love my President too.

22. Was about to start the same kind of thread until I saw yours:)
I was listening to him, and I said to myself "I really like my president!". That has to be a first for me.

This guy is STILL as willing to campaign for his ideas and to speak directly to the people, as he was during the election. I can't ever remember a president doing this, esp. right out of the gate.

I don't agree with every idea he has, and it makes no difference. He is not afraid to engage, or change a plan that isn't working or admit a mistake or move forward when required. I just plain admire him for taking his presidency so seriously, and not forgetting that he was elected to represent the people of this country, not just stand in as some useless hood ornament on a car.

The way he addressed the tax issue, the Hannity question was genius: smooth and sincere. The mention of his desire to increase education funding in the bill was a great. It is indeed refreshing after eight horrendous years.

Bush did townhalls right after the 2004 election. He tried to convince American we should privatize Social Security. And the more he talked, the less people liked the idea. So, he stopped.

I don't think the same will happen to Obama. :)

That town did not vote for him for president, but he handled their questions beautifully, and you could just feel him winning them over to his ideas for economic recovery.
:wow:
And the press conference! :woohoo: He joshed Helen a little bit, she bit back with a sharp question, and I was so glad to see she had her moment with President Not-Bush Obama. However, Helen really is looking frail.

spoken of in extremely reverential tones, his monument will rival the Lincoln Memorial, and some part of his name will come to be known as a euphemism for an extrememly enjoyable sensation.
