7. "Thank Goodness we got him"
What an apt way of putting it. :hi:

All that hopeful effort and donations by his supporters plus the unwillingness of the voting public to be distracted by prejudice = "goodness."

for the public. Lincoln too, regular citizens would come in the WH to ask him questions.

10. Reminds me of Elizabeth at Tilbury.
Jefferson answered the WH door himself. Nixon went wandering around the Mall once.

15. The Bush town-hall meetings gave us some of his most classic Bushisms.
"The fact that they purchased the machine meant somebody had to make the machine. And when somebody makes a machine, it means there's jobs at the machine-making place."

20. Also, the people there at that Town Hall in Indiana weren't handpicked and were allowed to ask tough
questions.

Bushie would have just hid on a military base, where his people could maniacally control the response and questioning.
