stupidest question from the press conference
no, it wasn't about the steroid baseball guy (although that was totally out of place and a little weird).

i can't remember who it was, but he asked (paraphrased): and how will the consumers know when the economy is better?

WTF?

probably they will know when they HAVE JOBS!

4. No, it was the one about the Biden quote
definitely

(and it was Chuck Todd who said that consumer spending caused the crisis - DOH!)

8. I agree, Major Garrett from Fuxed news asked that question about the Biden quote re: 30% chance
that they would fail.

Total garbage, taken out of context. But, as usual, Obama spun it into a great answer and shut him the F up.

20. Yeah, that was just plain asinine.
I'm glad Obama laughed at him.

Todd's question, although retarded, was actually something that was likely on the minds of a lot of people at least. I don't think many people really understood the difference between what Obama's advocating and what Bush was pushing (SPEND SPEND SPEND!! Feh with the bills...)

5. Who was the asshole who asked the steroid question?
My jaw just kinda dropped when I heard it.

Obama should have said, I have a lot more important things to worry about than that.

Fucking moran. I think he was from the WP.

6. Truthfully, Obama did not answer the question asked
He answered how the government would know if the economy is better.

The question was: how will the consumers know when the economy is better?

The answer could have been so simple:

Consumers will check their wallets, and there will be money there.

14. It wasn't to me
The answer went on and on and on.

If it wasn't crystal clear to me, then it wasn't crystal clear to many.

Sorry, I like the man, and he has a good plan.

But he needs to sell it to people at a 4th grade reading level.

15. He sold it on a 10th grade reading level
If it's over your head, read more. If the people never see what smart is, then they never know how high their standards ought to be. I am sick of living in a country full of 40 year old 4th graders.

23. So, since I have a job and can get a loan, the economy is great?
It is a good question and your response is completely wrong. Part of the problem is people losing their jobs. Another big part of the problem is people with jobs NOT spending, due to concerns about the economy. You need to think in a bit more of a macro approach.

26. They aren't spending because they can't get credit
The ones who can afford to spend out of their paychecks, still are. Otherwise, there would be no commerce AT ALL. The part of the economy that has fallen is the credit part, people who have been supplementing their income with credit cards and the housing bubble.

Didn't hear that on the nooze? Yes, well, I know that because I've seen what people in my small town are doing. The ones who were spending a year ago and have stopped because their credit is maxed and their mortgage is maxed.

When the unemployment rate goes down - AND people can get loans again, that's when we'll be out of the woods. Not macro enough for you? Well the poster did ask for it to be put in 4th grade terms.

28. I thought he answered it over and over and over again. The economy would be moving
and people could buy and spend....loosening credit market and also job building, creating and maintaining.

7. Jake Tapper asked that...about what measures will consumers see to know whether
the Obama administration's plans are successful.

I actually thought that was kind of a softball; the first thing I thought was "Jobs, DUH!", so I was sure Obama would say something like that, but with his usual tact. ;-)

27. I loved how Obama smiled about Joe. Everybody kind of chuckled about it.
But then I also love it when Joe kind of goes off script and says whatever pops into his head. That's one reason I think they make a great team. Their thought processes are different and kind of complement each other.

Heck, I can't remember * chuckling over something Cheney* said, ever. And I don't remember Cheney ever saying anything that made us smile instead of wanting to hide in our basements in case of nuclear holocaust.

29. LOL. Cheney made me cringe in fear. Joe makes me smile and laugh.
Obama was funny, "I don't know what he was talking about." Joe goes off script but at least he is trying to give honest assessments of things. Obama is a bit more controlled.
