3. I still can't understand Nelson, do people in Nebraska really not want money to build schools?
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 03:14 AM by Hippo_Tron
The economy is in the shitter for fuck's sake and he really thinks his constituents are going to vote against him for running up the deficit? In a normal year I could buy the "well my constituents hate invasive government and think all of the money only goes to help welfare queens" BS but this isn't a normal year. Many of those people who shunned the idea of government handouts in the past are probably unemployed and struggling right now. And all he can say is that he's worried about too much invasion from the federal government? Give me a fucking break...

4. Dear Senator Nelson, in the future please try to avoid going on Rachel
Maddow's program for interviews, as she is willfully progressive, contextually adroit, and quite a bit smarter than you are.

Going forward, please limit yourself to media-friendly interviews. Strive to be a FOX News Democrat.

And at all costs, avoid the Maddow show.

6. He couldn't defend them. He did explain his reasoning for the cuts. Basically the repigs forced
the Democrats to get 60 votes on the bill and the cuts were how they got there.

A lot of people would have preferred to let America see the repigs filibustering a jobs creation bill, but we are told speedy passage is essential.

7. did anyone here even understand what the hell Nelson was saying?
He made no sense.

I think he just likes being a "dealmaker" and the center of attention in the Senate.
