Watching the Ft. Meyers event just made me cry
An audience member was crying out for help and the president did not turn away. He went over to her and hug her.

How easy it is to turn your back on poverty and despair. He looked it in the eye and embraced it.

1. It's a good thing to know we have a real president in office.

I couldn't take much more of the little jug-eared prick that we had before.

their alternate universe remains intact, poor things.

6. Didn't you mean
dodged her question? I think many will have to eat their words regarding this incident! It brought me to tears too!! I will give odds that when he asked his staff to meet with her to get her information, that this darling lady will have a kitchen and a bathroom by TONIGHT!! God Bless our President! As much as he is LOVED by this country and the world, too many of us can't grasp the
enormity of his empathy, love and commitment to the people who need him now! :applause:

7. I don't know if he can give her stuff like oprah does but he might
be able to cut through the red tape and get her on the path to recovery - if he started to give to everyone like oprah - it would not turn out well in the whole picture - I do believe he will do what is plausible - he can not solve all of these deep, deep problems that Bobby Kennedy saw back in the 60's and they are now more and worse - Did he answer her question? Probably not. Why? It was much too complicated. That is what the staff will find out. Then the connections can be made.

9. He did what he could given that he didn't know her circumstances
It's not like he could just tell his staff, "Give that lady a house." And, if he had done something like that, they would have criticized that as well.

I would imagine his staff will see what programs she qualifies for and what agencies can help. One would hope that some wonderful RW Christian group would step in to help since they think we should stop looking to the government to help.
