I honestly think that McCaskill could be shortlisted for VP in 2012
I think at that point Biden's value going into a second term is going to be somewhat marginal

McCaskill is sharp as a tack. Progreesive and populist and a woman from a swing state.

SHe is doing a great job as a leading surrogate.

If Biden value is seen as marginal electorally and Obama and Cliton seem to have foreigh Affairs in Hand., McCaskill would be an awesom choice,

1. It's been 3 weeks and you're already calling our VP "marginal"?
.
.

I say we keep Joe.

2. McCaskill's up for re-election then. I'm sure Missouri would like to keep her.
I think most everyone will be okay with keeping Biden during the second term, if that's what he wants to do.

3. But I like Joe. Even if he was a corporate tool.
He's grown on me.

14. Yes, he grew on me as well - but I can't listen to him on matters of finance
Just because of his corporate ties and his bankruptcy bill support. Honestly, I don't think it gives him any standing in the debate because those measures helped get us to this point.

Beyond that, I love Joe and he's a great VP.

8. Of course, we'll keep Joe ..the
OP is a waste of bandwidth.

OT, but are you getting advertisements now. I took a break and come back and there's all these ads in my face. I thought if we donated we wouldn't have to see the ads?

9. Not going to happen. VP's are only replaced when they die or charged with a crime
like Spiro Agnew. Of course, Cheney SHOULD have been in jail a while ago.

10. McCaskill is my Senator and she's shown herself
to be a lot more conservative than I'd like. She voted for telecom immunity for the warrantless wiretaps, and on several other occasions that escape me, she's voted like Feinstein and Landrieu (DINO). Senator McCaskill has let me down several times.

There are SEVERAL more progressive Dems than McCaskill that Obama could put on the ticket in '12 if VP Biden doesn't want to run again.

18. Perky, I agree with you. I think Obama's starting to get agitated with Biden
Obama is sick of answering for Biden's silly comments. The man is a gaffe machine. During the campaign, that stuff might've been funny, but President Obama is dealing with a lot of tough issues and he doesn't have time to be sidetracked over questions about Joe's comments all the time. You could see that Obama was clearly agitated about Biden. I really wouldn't be surprised if he retires in 2012.
