Is Gregg toast for 2010?
He was already a weak candidate, although maybe not as weak as Bunning or the various opening R seats. However, now he has hurt himself from both sides. Republicans will not forget that he initially accepted Obama's invitation (although maybe they will forgive him), independents and liberals will not forget that he quit based on information that he already should have considered, while refusing to vote in a rather cowardly way.

If course part of it depends on the quality of candidate that runs against him. Still, this is strange behavior for someone who has to defend his seat in a few years.
