It's amazing how quickly the bank bailout bill passed and how long it's taking on stimulus
for ordinary people. It just shows where the heart and soul of the Republican party is. They didn't attempt to filibuster a bailout for banks and the credit card industry, but when it comes to economic stimulus for real people, boy, it's too much money.

Who the hell won the elections in 2006 and 2008? We got a Democratic President, strong democratic majorities in the house and senate, and yet it appears that because we don't have 60 sure votes in the Senate (with Kennedy back in FL and Franken still awaiting the MN decision) we have to worry about the minority defeating this bill thru fillibuster.

I say call their bluff. Let them filibuster this bill. Let them stand in the way of helping millions of Americans. Let's stop babying the party that lost the election.

1. But this needs to be told out there by Dem Congressmen....
They need to stop saying nothing, and say it like it is, that Repukes are trying to hurt the middle class.

3. Actually, the stimulus was the fastest BIG BILL ever to be passed
by the congress un a short time and for a new President. I remember hearing talking heads saying they thought it was impossible for him to ever get a bill to his desk by Presidents Day. They said it would be amazing if he got it by March 1st, and most likely would be April sometime.

You folks don't seem to remember how long it takes Congress to do anything! The speed of THIS bill was phenominal.
