Four Tennessee Legislators Want Obama to Prove Citizenship

Several Tennessee lawmakers have signed on to a legal action intended to force President Barack Obama to turn over his birth certificate and other documents to prove his citizenship, an effort rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court in an earlier case.

Tennessee Reps. Eric Swafford, Stacey Campfield, Glen Casada and Frank Niceley have all agreed to be plaintiffs in a planned legal action by a Russian immigrant in California who has challenged whether Obama meets constitutional criteria to be president.

The lawsuit from the Defend Our Freedoms Foundation, which has not been filed, will be among several court challenges to Obama's citizenship.

There have been various problems with the vetting of Mr. Obama throughout the campaign and the present. ... Most interesting, though, is the fact that Mr. Obama has not simply ordered the original vault copy of his birth certificate to be sealed and chosen to retain three (3) law firms to defend the various cases—spending a reported $800,000 (of whose money?). If Mr. Obama has nothing to hide, then why fight the more than 42 cases in federal courts alone (According to Justia)....Main issue is that the state of HI, according to statue 338 allows Foreign born children of Hawaiian residents to obtain Hawaiian birth certificates and obtain them based on a statement of one relative only. There is plenty of evidence of Mr. Obama being born in Kenya and obtaining his Hawaiian birth certificate based on a statement of his grandparent only,,,,Extensive searches in the State of Hawaii showed on birthing records for his mother Ann Dunham in any hospital in Hawaii.

....There are serious concerns about Mr. Obama’s identity and financial dealings. I have obtained a list of some 100 addresses under the name of Barack Obama (and similar spellings). These addresses are attached to different social security numbers. As you know the first three digits in a social security number signify the state. Those were issued all over the country. One of his social security numbers, that was used while he was a law student at Harvard and attached to his address in Sommervile MA, was issued in Ct and attached to a holder of this social security number , that is 118 years old. Clearly no human being can legally have dozens of different social security numbers and Soetoro/Obama is not a 118 years old. I believe there is evidence of massive fraud and massive financial fraud. I believe those units of Name/ss number/ addresses were used to fraction large campaign contributions and other transactions. There is evidence of campaign contributions coming from countries like Libya, Uganda, Palestinian authority and Saudi Arabia. Mr. Obama’s grandmother, Ms. Madelyn Dunham worked as a volunteer in probate department of the Oahu Circuit court and had access to the Social security numbers of the deceased individuals, which might explain the findings. Mr. Obama’s mother Ann Dunham, according to databases had numerous aliases and at least two social security numbers.

If Stacey Campfield is awake, he is probably spreading false information. He claims that the state already issues “death certificates” for miscarriages. In fact, the state issues "certificates" for late-term miscarriages, no personal data is collected, no one’s privacy is invaded. As many have noted, death certificates are what you get when you have an actual birth certificate! And death certificates are branded with identifying data such as social security numbers.

Campfield also falsely claims that his joke of a bill would result in the collection of needed data, i.e., the number of abortions performed in this state. It's no surprise that Stacey X doesn't know that this data is already collected, and the information is readily available from many sources.

Campfield is now in his second term, yet I can find no evidence that he has ever gotten a bill of his own passed. He has signed on as co-sponsor to bills which have passed, he has gotten resolutions passed, and that's it!

There are lot of good Democrats here and our state was once a very loyal Democratic state - and not too long ago either. We just need good leadership in our party and some fairness back on the airwaves.

I love the broad brushed remarks about Tennessee and its inhabitants while the people making the comments don't have a clue about whats going on in this state. Yes, I'm ashamed that we've got these people here and they always seem to be the ones that get the attention, but I'm not giving up on this state. But I suppose we should all just move to some other state and let the state we love be laid to waste by the GOP. We have been working here for almost four years to ban non-verifiable voting machines and to institute paper ballots/opscan AND mandatory random manual audits in every election. The Rethugs fought us tooth-and-nail (aided by two very corrupt state election officials) to postpone the implementation of the DRE ban until 2010. With that delay, Rethugs overwhelmingly voted for the bill, as did Democrats.

Well, (as Gomer Pyle would say) "Gawlleee, Sarge, them Rethugs won EVERY open seat in our legislature -- how'd they do that?" As a result, for the first time since Reconstruction, Rethugs control both houses of our legislature. (Think Georgia 2002 -- same m.o., same outcome.)

Now that the Rethugs control the legislature (and with it, the state election commission and the county election commissions in ALL 95 counties), they have stated that repealing the TN Voter Confidence Act is one of their three top priorities for this legislative session.

Cue Gomer again: "Sur-prize, sur-prize, sur-prize".

If we cannot keep the DRE ban in place, it will likely take a revolution in this state to return it to any (small "d") democratic legitimacy. But hey, treason is a capital offense. And we grow some pretty tall hangin' trees in Nashville.

Knoxville - the city of - is blue. My area of town is particularly blue. I have Dems as representatives in my school board, my city council, my county commission and my state House. The only reason my state senator is Republican is because my senatorial district is bigger and includes Halls - part of the county.

You can literally travel over Black Oak Ridge from Fountain City, where I live, and into Halls and see the difference. The signs would switch from Obama to McCain at the blink of an eye. It's eerie, but it just proves the point that's often made by Southerners on this board: states aren't blue or red - they're purple. It's the cities that are blue and the rural areas that are red.

Not sure where in East Tennessee you live, but, rest assured - there are some of us blue voters in your neck of the woods. :hug:
