Leadership and action aside, Bush seemed to always have poor approval ratings (outside of the few months post-9/11), while getting ungodly amounts of support in the media. Obama, however, has pretty high approval ratings and he has very minimal support in the media.

For Bush, the media wanted to compensate for his lower approval ratings by carrying his water. With Obama, it seems they want to even out of higher approval ratings by bringing him down a peg. :eyes:

2. It's going to be like that until we get more fairness on the airwaves.
It's just a matter of time then the RW media won't have all the control they have now.

3. Here is a graph for comparison.....

I still think it's a BIT too early to compare, but Barack has all of the tools that Bush DIDN'T have (brains, inablity to be flustered, calming demanor, ability to think fast and well on his feet, ability to admit a mistake and turn it around, etc.) that I think it bodes will for him.

He started going DOWN from the very beginning ..... the big spike is of course 9/11.

And for further comparison, here's Clinton's ...

Am I reading that right? Clinton ended with HIGHER numbers than he started with? Wow. I didn't realize that.

4. I have to wonder...
Without 9/11, how low would Bush's numbers have fallen...and stayed there.

Probably low enough to have been beaten soundly by Kerry in 2004

How should I put this...it was certainly fortuitous for Bush that 9/11 happened, eh?

5. Yep and for the neocons
They never would have gotten the Iraq war they wanted without having 911 to exploit.
