McCain's Sore-Loser-Palooza tour continues on CNN: "Stimulus bill was 'a bad beginning' for Obama"

Stimulus bill was 'a bad beginning' for Obama, says McCain

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/02/15/stimulus-bill-was-a-bad-beginning-for-obama-says-mccain/

“It was a bad beginning,” McCain said Sunday of the legislative process that resulted in the $787 billion stimulus bill recently passed by Congress. “It was a bad beginning because it wasn’t what we promised the American people, what President Obama promised the American people – that we would sit down together.”

While McCain said he appreciated the fact that Obama came to Capitol Hill to speak with House Republicans about the stimulus bill. But, “that’s not how you negotiate a result.” Instead, “you sit down in a room with competing proposals” and “almost all of our proposals went down on a party-line vote”

“I hope the next time we will sit down together and conduct truly bipartisan negotiations. This was not a bipartisan bill.”

“Republicans were guilty of this kind of behavior,” McCain said. “I’m not saying that we did things different. But Americans want us to do things differently and they want us to work together.”

9. Would that be the same John King who just said Obama had just received a major legislative defeat?
Yes, Obama just had a legislative defeat because he got a huge stimulus bill passed with 90% of everything he wanted. Even McInsane couldn't agree and contradicted King.

Hot is as hot does.

The repukes still have NOT learned anything. They think "free" trade, with all its ponzi schemes, bubbles, greed, tainted food, poisoned puppy chow, and toxic baby rattles is good economics. Why do they bother putting such a loser as McInsane on the talk shows?

16. I love his suggestions for people Obama should hire to help fix the economy...
One of them was Carly Fiorina. Seriously? Wasn't she forced to step down as CEO of Hewlett-Packard because she almost drove it into the ground? Why, yes, she was! Does McCain think everyone is as stupid and forgetful as he is?

12. here's the problem as i see it
the electorate had a choice between obama's economic ideas and mccain's economic ideas. there's a reason mccain is still senator mccain and obama is president obama.... mccain's economic ideas were defeated in the election. it wasn't even a close election. HELLOOOOO!!!! you lost, dude. you republicans are the ones with the problem. just because no one was interested in your tax cut bs, doesn't mean you were shut out of the talks. now there were three republicans who participated and they had actual ideas. might not have agreed with them, but their idea didn't involve taking out all the spending and aid to the states in favor of all tax cuts. obama wanted to hear from you. he listened. and he said.... he wasn't interested in the tired ideas that got us here in the first place. if you consider that left out of discussions, that's your problem.

24. Perfect Explanation! Thank You!
It wasn't that the pukes ideas weren't considered; they were considered, as Obama is a reasonable and fair man, they were re-soundly fucking bad ideas, and Obama said "Fuck off, that bullshit doesn't fly so THANKS BUT NO THANKS LOSERS."

The cowardly bully pukes just haven't gotten the memo that we smell them. So does Obama. This horse shit that the pukes are spewing about "THE AMERICAN PEOPLE" is so much hooey I want to kick every one of them square in the crotch. As if they fucking care or even know what we think, FUCK THEM!

Self serving, greedy, slimy, piggish, assholes. Every GOD DAMN one. McLamo is an opportunistic, narcissistic FUCKWITTAGE. Get lost McNasty. GET THE FUCK LOST! End of rant. Jaysus these bastids are exhausting.

15. HUFFPO: Dems fed up with McCain
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/15/dems-growing-angry-with-m_n_167062.html

Democrats are growing increasingly frustrated with the brash political attacks Sen. John McCain has launched against Barack Obama in the weeks since the new president took office. No one expected the Arizona Republican to be a legislative ally for this administration. But it was widely assumed that Obama's overtures to McCain in the weeks after the election would dull some of the hard feelings between the two. Now, they are realizing, it has not.

"He is bitter and really angry," Bob Shrum said of McCain in an interview on Friday. "He is angry at the press, which he thinks is unfair. He is angry at Obama and angry at the voters. He has gone from being an angry old candidate to being an angry old defeated candidate."

We had a choice and we could have voted for him and his tax-cutarama. We didn't and he now needs to STFU. Go count your houses, John.

19. Even watered down, this stimulus bill was an EPIC WIN for Obama
and John "the fundamentals of our economy is strong" McCain's opinion on this is just as ridiculous and transparent as his attempt to postpone his campaign to fly to DC to figure out what to do about the problem in the first place.

In less than a month, Obama has succeeded in doing what many presidents take their entire term to accomplish. This one bill will make good on a number of campaign promises he made: tax cuts for the lower and middle classes, increased funding for education, investing in infrastructure, etc. It's not exactly what he wanted, but no one can say it was a "bad beginning" without being full of useless partisan anger.

35. I wish King had pointed out to him that numerous Republican proposals were inserted into the bill
McCain whined that Republican proposals were voted down - that's because those particular proposals were too extreme to have been included in the original bill but a number of Republican proposals (mostly tax cuts) were ALREADY in the bill.

But that's fine. Next time, President Obama won't put ANY Republican proposal in the original legislation but wait until later to tack them on ONLY after Republicans agree to vote yes if he does so. Otherwise, they stay out.
