I'll save you the trouble of actually going over to one and taking a look around. (Me, I enjoy the schadenfreude.) In short, they don't know WHAT to think anymore.

Obama, it goes without saying, can do nothing right. When he does something aggressive, he's arrogant; when he acts in a bipartisan manner, he's weak. Just like the Freepers, right? But WAIT! These sites don't like the Republicans either. They never liked Bush, and compare Obama to him constantly, even though they spend half the time calling him too liberal. They hate McCain for not winning, even though most voted for him. (Conservatives dislike them too; at FreeRepublic, they were so shocked that PUMAs didn't swing Pennsylvania and Ohio to McCain that they now insist the whole thing was a Democratic hoax.) PUMA's hate the "wimps and cowards" in the Republican Congress who they blame for not "preventing" (?) Obama's election, but of course, they hate Pelosi and Reid and the Democrats in Congress even more. So who's left?

Well, these sites all used to praise Hillary Clinton to the heavens, but ever since Hillary joined Obama's cabinet, she became part of the enemy camp as well. Aside from a few desperate, pathetic examples of wishful thinking (like "I hope Obama becomes overwhelmed and gives up, and Hillary takes over somehow") she really doesn't get mentioned much anymore. They talk wistfully about the Clinton years, but then slammed Obama as a weakling for appointing Hillary and other Clinton-era people to his staff, even though if he HADN'T, they would have been even more angry.

So, what goes on at hillaryis44.com and other likeminded sites? Essentially, they spend all of their time throwing mud at Obama, but present no political alternative to his presidency. They truly come off as the most bitter and disjointed people currently on the political spectrum--you see, their whole raison d'etre was that Obama was unelectable, so when he WAS elected, they suffered a blow to their morale that they've never quite recovered from. And as far as I can see, the only person they like unequivocally is Sarah Palin, whom they speak of as their martyr on the cross--a battered victim of the misogynist, racist, in-the-tank media who tried to portray her as "dumb."

That should tell you a lot right there.

By continuing to hide behind a thin veneer of being "Democratic" sites, they are lying about their true intentions.

5. Bingo!
That is the correct answer.

I belong to a couple general topic messageboards, and they each had a handful of self-described PUMAS. The thing is, when certain topics came up it was obvious that they were not Democrats. Or if they were, they seemed to have no idea what most Democrats support.

Then there were a handful that race was an obvious factor, and I don't just throw that around willy-nilly.

8. There is no such thing as a PUMA. Quit this shit.
Anyone who didn't vote for Obama in the general election was never a Democrat to begin with.

There were angry supporters of Clinton (just like there would have been angry supporters of Obama if he had lost).

In the end, all Democrats vote Democrat. Anybody who voted for McCain or sat out is a Repuke.

10. The intention is was and has been to create a false front
faction that theoretically draws Democratic-voting women into the Republican Party on gender politics alone. And by gender politics I mean literally 'my candidate has a vagina and yours doesn't'. Thus the vaginally equipped Palin is their current heroine. Needless to say, PUMA was a complete flop. Democratic-voting women tend to have this other organ dimly known to zombies and PUMAs as 'BRANES' and aren't so easily diverted by these sorts of gender-clown antics.

It was a false-flag astroturfing operation from the start. But it included a whole heck of a lot of racists as well...or served as a good cover for racists, anyway. Because it provided a diversion? "Racist? No, I'm not racist! YOU are SEXIST!!"

12. All they cared about was electing a woman President
that is why so many of them can so easily 'like' Sarah Palin, whose politics are as far from Hillary Clinton's as one can get. This small group of people is exactly the audience McCain aimed for when he picked Palin... he just grossly overestimated how many people would be in that group.

29. They are people who take politics personally and hold grudges
They are the kind of people who take personal affront to everything and anything.

These are folks who stopped caring about issues and latched on to the personal and personalities long ago. Many display obsessive behavior and believe that the world revolves around them as they do not really care about the collective common good that politics is supposed to be about. That is why they don't even have an actual ideology beyond how they personally feel about things.

This is why it was so easy for them to one day love Hillary Clinton, and then see her as a traitor to their cause once she lined herself up with her party and with Barack Obama. These folks took Hillary's political conversion as a personal affront to them...when for Hillary, politics was never as personal.

What keeps them stuck is the thought of having to admit they were wrong in their assessment to begin with. They do not have the capability to reverse what they had already started, as it included hate.
If they would have to take back all of what they had stated about Barack Obama and his character, it would make them wrong in their original assessment, and the last thing that they can stomach is being wrong.

They didn't like Bush, and don't like Obama, and very few probably like themselves or each other.

In otherwords, they are disfunctional individuals who feel that they were wronged, and that the only thing that will "right" them is to see Obama fail, or when he is defeated or can no longer run. At such time, whomever they latch onto and support, whomever the opponents of that individual is will receive the exact same treatment......and it won't end until whomever they support wins office, or they die while waiting.

It's going to be a long time before they ever experience any happiness, I'll tell you that.

38. That sounds exactly right.
It's a cult of personality, but it's the twisted, unhappy opposite of the Obama-love threads. So much bitterness, so much hate - it's chilling the way they turned on Hillary herself when she didn't get down in the gutter with them. She lost, she was disappointed, she moved on -- and very sensibly took the prestigious Cabinet position she'd be very good at it when it was offered to her. That's how a rational person thinks. There's nothing rational about the bitter-enders.

49. Some were and some maybe not so much.
Plenty of PUMA sites arose out of frustration of what occurred during the primaries. Not all of them were about hatred. Not supporting Obama as the nominee is not necessarily due to hatred and bitterness. Those people had choices, most ended up voting for Obama, some didn't vote for president in protest, some voted third party and some even voted for McCain. Free country, live and let live.

I saw enough hatred for the Clintons on the LW blogs. Heck, I still see it pop up here and there on this board. What do you call those people?

You see, these idiots would rather cut off their nose to spite their face. They're sick, seriously. I think everyone of them were brainwashed and now are like Chef from South Park, beyond redemption.

And if you're not familiar with South Park, when Isaac Hayes left the show because they bagged on Scientology, they wrote in the storyline that Chef joined a group called The Super Adventure Friends. They're basically pedophiles who go around the world molesting different boys. Chef was brainwashed and never really brought back to the good side.

That's them to a tee.
