I just heard on MSNBC 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. that our President
isn't in such a hurry to end this war, it may go on for years. Please let President Obama know that we are holding him to his promise to end this war in months, not years! (if you know of a better way to contact him please let me know)

11. Some guy who wrote a book and has zero insight into actual WH thinking on the matter.
Whereas Ryan Lizza pointed out that when he asked that very question to sources within the WH, he was told that Obama might give a couple extra months to appease the Generals, but not much more.

DU hysteria, you know how it goes :eyes:

6. Shuster
was making it seem as though Obama had said that ALL of the troops would be out in 16 months...which, of course, he didn't.

He always stated that there would be troops left to guard the embassy, train Iraqi's, and to combat AQ elements.

8. Then you should've ALSO heard Ryan Lizza in the same segment saying his reporting
was that after speaking to someone in Obama's admin., they replied it could be 18 months or 20 months if necessary. They may have to stretch it out a few months past their promised timeline-not years past.

9. To be honest I always figured that would be the case.
I mean I do think he'll pull out of Iraq, there's no doubt about that. However, when it comes to sending more troops into Afghanistan (with really no timetable in sight for that to end), which says to me that he'll pull out troops in Iraq to put in Afghanistan. Then I had the impression that many wars would be waged in other parts of the world if we he felt we needed to play "big brother". When he talked about Pakistan, which could insight war there... Saying that what Russia did should not happen again in Georgia, then he was talking about parts of Africa. I reached a point where I was like, I like a lot of his policies but I also feel we'll be fighting endless wars, yet with really no military to really end them. Stretching ourselves thinner than ever.

I will of course give Obama the benefit of the doubt, however we may get out of Iraq and never go into Iran....those two things I'm definitely certain of or more believing, however other wars and fighting in Afghanistan....I see no end in sight.
